Niki Babouches “Handira XV” Flats In Colors Ivory & Tan Hand Beaded (Size 41)
These Limited Edition Bridal Babouches are made from traditional Moroccan Wedding Blankets, known in Arabic as Handira. These historically significant Berber textiles adorn women during marriage ceremonies and also accompany couples on their wedding night. Composed of tightly woven cotton, accented by surface treatments of fringe and metal sequins, the blanket symbolises blessings of health and wealth for the newlyweds.
CALLA has created a line of Babouche slippers that embody conscientious design. Handmade from upcycled vintage Berber rugs, the slippers exist in limited edition - just a handful for each rug. They boast textural details that are one-of-a-kind. Like all Babouche slippers, they are comforable to wear and effortlessly versatile. Every pair supports local Moroccan craftspeople and their traditions.
A few things to know:
-
The babouches have a leather sole. They can be worn outdoors but we recommend to avoid getting them wet.
-
Babouches are handmade in the souk of Marrakesh, Morocco. Small imperfections are possible and we consider them part of the shoe’s charm.
-
Fit: If hesitating between 2 sizes, we recommend taking the larger size.
