Welcome to Made X Hudson
We’re a sustainability-driven company with a small-batch garment factory and two slow-fashion boutiques in New York’s Hudson Valley, featuring clothes and accessories designed and sewn by us, alongside other small, mostly local brands — including original, vintage and upcycled goods.
About Us
For Sergio Guadarrama, owner of Celestino Couture, the pandemic’s mask shortage made vivid just how few garment factories there are in the United States at this point. As a fashion designer, he’d known how hard it was to manufacture clothes in this country, but in 2020 he made it his mission to open an atelier-factory here in the Hudson Valley, wanting specifically to work with small-batch brands and to support designers who wanted their goods made responsibly and collaboratively. A mutual friend connected him with social-enterprise entrepreneur Eric De Feo, founder of the Hudson Community Incubator, and together they created Made X Hudson.
Offering the lowest required minimum quantities of any US factory, and seeking input from potential clients, they bootstrapped their way to a bustling factory, producing the Made X house line — designed by Sergio — and working with a wide variety of other small companies.
As they became increasingly aware of the challenges, pitfalls and ills of the fashion industry (both the environmental and human costs), they’ve become more and more committed to supporting sustainable fashion in any way possible. In late 2022, they were joined by Sergio’s partner, Kade Johnson, and the three began work on their first retail shop. Designed by Kade (to be “a warm hug” of a shopping experience), the first Made X Hudson shop opened in March 2023, on Catskill’s Main St, just below the factory. And a second shop, on Warren St in Hudson, opened in August 2023.
Featuring new, vintage and upcycled apparel, the shops allow us to sell our own line alongside other small and sustainable brands (including many whose goods are produced at Made X), host workshops and gatherings, and support customers in their quest to create a more sustainable wardrobe — and life. We hope you’ll visit us!
