Olga Ella’s patchworked denim garments are works of textile art, and this one-of-its-kind jacket is no exception. It began life as a denim, western work shirt and has been reworked into a lightweight, open-front jacket with a shawl collar made from a grid of patchworked denim, giving a pixelated effect. The front pocket are set under ghosts of the original pockets, patched and lined with a red checker and set at the bottom hem. The arms are re-sewn for an open, relaxed fit.
The denim pieces involved are different shades, and most or all are from other vintage garments. All of the wear and patina in the fabrics contributes to the unique character of the piece.
