We recently received two of these chic little cotton trench jackets (reworked vintage) from Sherri Cohen Design — with her trademark addition of eco-printed flora — and began styling a couple of wishing-for-fall looks with the one on the left. While we were in the middle of that, the jacket sold. And then true fall weather arrived, so it became an exercise in transition! 

The outfit on the left is just the thing for those between-seasons days — the jacket paired with a sleeveless tee, MXH Jogger Pants in khaki hemp-cotton canvas, shearling-lined Sabah shoes and a workhorse black leather tote bag by Per Lei. On the right, just days later, we layered the remaining jacket over a lightweight but cozy camel-colored mockneck sweater from The Endery, with the same tote, MXH Wide-Leg Pants in moss, and a newly arrived pair of Calla shoes in the perfect fall brown. Both pants are endlessly versatile, and the jacket will carry you from late summer through fall, late winter through spring, and would even look great on cool midsummer evenings.
