Sometimes an outfit presents itself as if it were fated to be. When this shimmery Tracey Reese skirt arrived from Chambers Vintage at the same time as the appliquéd plaid ponies top from Melke, it was a meet cute, for sure. The modern, boxy top would be just as amazing with shorts or jeans, but it makes the skirt feel very of-the-moment. And the pleated A-line skirt is even better than the photos can convey — shimmery, iridescent, with the most beautifully placed pockets. The shape, the fabric ... it’s just to die for, with a mid-century vibe that makes it seem like it came from an earlier era than it did. We added the Per Lei straw bag and Calla slip-ons that both have hints of pinky-red-purples, plus a gold-tone MLE bracelet to play off the gold lurex in the skirt, and the whole outfit is just a thing of beauty.
