Open Sew Workshop

NOTE: Starting Oct 26, we’re offering Open Sewing Studio on both Saturdays and Mondays! Reserve your spot accordingly—

Whether you’re a beginner, an experienced home sewer or a budding designer, our open-studio sessions are a chance for you to simply sew in good company or to develop your skills, with one of our professional instructors (see below) on hand to help with whatever you might need — from learning to sew, to altering garments, adjusting a pattern, or even patterning your own design. Limit 6 sewers per session.

  • Taking a sketch through the garment process
  • Evening wear; couture hand-sewing
  • Draping
  • Pattern Making

  • Learning how to produce more sustainably

When: 
Mondays 5:30 - 8:30pm
Saturdays 2-5:00pm (coming soon)

Location: 391 Main St, Catskill NY 12414*

Cost: $50 per 3-hour session

Material Checklist: You are expected to bring your own fabrics and tools, and are encouraged to bring your own machine(s). When you reserve your spot, we will let you know what you may need during the workshop.

Machine Rental: We have industrial machines and 2 home sewing machines available to rent for $25/session — if you need to rent a machine, be sure to purchase the Sewing Machine Rental, along with your chosen Open Sew session.
To use our industrial-grade machines, you must also sign up for a prerequisite 2-hr training course. Purchase the Industrial Machine Rental + Training, then contact us via hello@madexhudson.com to book training time for a weekday evening. 

INSTRUCTORS

Sergio Guadarrama: An expert in pattern-making, with nearly two decades of fashion industry experience, Sergio brings his signature style and extensive industry network to Made X Hudson, where he is cofounder and in-house designer. He also has his own brand, Celestino Couture, an impressive client list, and a B.A. from the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York, NY.

Danielle Patton: A former costume designer at the Costumer in Schenectady NY and for a range of theaters and companies, and costumer and teacher at the Costume Shop at Siena College, Danielle is thrilled to now be working at Made X Hudson as a pattern maker, stitcher and instructor. She also holds a degree in fashion design from FIT.
